The sun is getting warmer and the days longer. Everyone starts feeling the need for staying outdoors much more and wearing less and less clothes. The sea of black and grey clothes on the streets gives way to more delicate and feminine, pastel hues. In short, Spring is here and like every year it brings a wave of new and fresh trends!
This year on the catwalks we saw so many exciting trends that no one really knows where to start from! There are vibrant iridescent colours, but also pastel shades. There are sporty looks, but also more romantic and feminine ones. It is all quite confusing but also exciting as fashion this year gives us a wide range of choice to suit everyones personal style.
Fashion Week Signature Trends
Here is a selection of the must-have spring 2022 trends from the catwalks that we have found for less from one of our favourite high street stores: Debenhams. We chose Debenhams because it has such a wide selection of great quality clothes for great prices and very often, if you are a bit money-savvy and know where to look, you can find vouchers for them that make everything even more affordable
Pleats
The trend: pleats? Yes, please! Spring 2022 is all about small pleats on both skirts and dresses. They will add extra movement to every step you’ll make, making your look very young and flirty!
The real: Proenza Schuler.
The deal: Pleated dress for £39.99 and skirt for £50.
Boxy Jackets
The trend: Boxy cropped jackets are a trend that comes back straight from the 90s and this year the designers are reinventing them in all types of colours and prints. It is a dressier alternative to the classic biker jacket that is one of Spring’s favourites and you will be able to wear it both for formal occasions but also for going to the office!
The real: Thakoon
The deal: Black and white jacket for £65 and the pink one for £70.
Geometric Prints
The trend: Grids, triangles, circles, squares, rectangles and much more. A Spring 2022 trend that just had to be in this list is geometric prints. If chosen in the right way for your body, these prints have the power to shape up and elongate your figure, which can really work miracles for those of us who could do with a bit of extra help in concealing some small flaws.
The real: Carolina Herrera
The deal: Monochromatic Dress for £22 and multi-coloured one for £35.
Lace
The trend: lace is probably the most feminine material of all. If you don’t know what an LLD is yet, I can bet you that by the end of Spring 2022 you will most likely own one. It’s a little lace dress that this season is really on trend and it will become your new go-to dress for every occasion.
The real: Stella McCartney
The deal: Lace dress for £48 (available in different colours) and white lace top for £18.
Sheer
The trend: yes, sheer clothes are still on trend! Minis are so last year, this Spring it is all about long ones with a bit of sheer to add some sexiness to them. Of course, this is not a novelty as sheer skirts have been around for a couple of years now, but if you don’t own one yet I’d say now it’s definitely time to buy it.
The real: Mulberry
The deal: Sheer skirt for £40 and sheer dress for £48.
So, which is your favourite trend for this year?
