Presents x Prêt-à-Métier Spring Trends

Prêt-à-Métier means “career on the go” in French. The Prêt-à-Métier team’s mission is to show women they can be both successful and fashionable. They want to inspire women to be great and to strive to do big things. To fit in, not blend in. The team posts fashion tips and interviews of entrepreneurs to inspire readers to build their own brand in the #WhatDoYouWearAtTheOffice series, collaborates with brands and organizes networking events.

Prêt-à-Métier founder, Diane Younes, is French and works as an attorney in New York and Hong Kong. She is passionate about what women can achieve when they work together and learn from each other.

Diane likes to combine the simplicity of Parisian chic with the modernity of New York fashion in her outfits. This combination works perfectly in Hong Kong, where different cultures are apparent and celebrated in local fashion. For spring, try mixing French feminine details with New York edgy pieces. Diane is wearing a Zara flower-print dress, Zara bomber jacket and lace-up flats she found at a Hong Kong street market (similar).

It’s no secret that it gets very humid in Hong Kong. To stay cool, Diane likes to wear an oversized cotton top. The lace-up top is a big trend this spring. And because she doesn’t want to sacrifice her love of (faux) leather, she pairs the top with stretch faux leather pants. To really stand out, Diane finishes off her outfit with statement sneakers – which thankfully for our feet are still on-trend this spring! Diane is wearing an oversized Zara lace-up top (similar), H&M stretch faux leather pants (similar) and Nine West metallic slip-on sneakers (similar).

Like Diane, Rachel has a penchant for French style. With an addiction to Breton stripes for spring the Breton is taking on a new form, in the striped skirt. From the streets of Paris to the corners of London, a Breton stripe always works for summer. This ruched skirt from Hush is fun and versatile and can be worn to the office with a white shirt tucked in and bold heels to smarten it, or be playful for a summer of shopping and picnics, with slip-on sneakers or lace-up flats.

Rachel is wearing Hush striped skirt cotton sleeveless top from Esprit, faux leather jacket from M&S (similar) and lace up flats from Misguided.

Layering is key for a day out in London!

London fashion is all about an eclectic mix. This season take denim and wear it in a new way. Combining with the seasonal trend for neutral footwear and accessories, it’s easy to wear. Rachel is wearing Denim Shift Dress from Hush teamed with neutral heels from Esprit in soft pink and the Sarah cross body bag in Oyster from Ilex London. The pockets on this dress give it a fresh feel for this season and you can dress it up or down with a range of chunky necklaces or a coloured belt at the waist.
