GYORK London founder Donna-Marie Donalds is all about bringing practicality alongside style when it comes to handbags. Why the name GYORK London? Well it’s a mix of ‘Gym’ and ‘Work’ two areas where a decent bag is a must for all your daily essentials where you also want a luxurious edge.
It’s like Donna-Marie has read my mind. I need a bag that can take me to meetings, allow me to fit all my necessities in and yes I do mean a laptop, two phones, two chargers, makeup, notepad and bottle of water! It needs to see me through train journeys, act as aeroplane hand luggage and still allow me to be on the cutting edge of accessories trends.
As a former Financial Risk consultant, Donna-Marie has taken the need for a handbag that accommodated her multifaceted lifestyle to launching her own label to solve the problem. That’s how you get things done! She sought to produce an alternative solution to commuting into the city every day and having to carry several bags to work and on her several overseas business trips. These multiple bags she lugged around would often include a laptop bag, a gym bag, an overnight bag as well as her handbag. Is this sounding familiar?

Donna-Marie brought on-board her friend Shelley O’Neill, who is a technical expert in the fashion industry to work on the three defining attributes of the GYORK brand – how to make a handbag chic, innovative and functional. I just love how the collection is two handbags in one. Covering all bases for your luggage and fashion needs no matter where you are in the world.
The City Collection
In January 2024, GYORK London launch their latest collection. The City Collection is a well-edited range of hand crafted, Italian calf leather totes and accessories. Including the Knightsbridge Tote, Kensington Demi Tote, Montpelier Clutch, and the Harriet Purse in colours such as ox blood, lilac, and prussian blue.
As well as being truly stylish, the practicality of daily life has been considered, with compartments for your laptops, high heels, phones, wallet and event an external detachable clutch so you have two bags in one without the extra baggage. It’s such a perfect concept.
