London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2022 season opened at Somerset House with designer Jackie Lee’s collection under her brand J. JS Lee.
Jackie Lee was born in Seoul, Korea and studied at Central Saint Martins, her focus is chic, minimalist and modern tailoring. Lee focuses on designing womenswear that is sleek, sculptured and feminine and her Autumn/Winter 14 collection packed a bright punch.
The inspiration behind the collection is a forest wonderland, taking us on a journey to middle Earth. The collection featured earthy tones of autumnal delight, mixing emerald green, chocolate and caramel then with a vivid pop of royal blue.
Lee took texture to the next level by creating a new style of jacquard, it looks a little houndstooth but if you look closer you’ll see that Jackie has embossed tyre tracks on the fabrics to represent the off road experience of a muddy woodland.
Monochrome remains key in this season – with opening collection in crisp white, long coats and dresses with playful peter pan collars. Navy blended into woody green before the pop of royal blue.
Check is fresh for AW14. Pale blue check on cream brightens up the season – why not have a splash of light in a darkened wood scene?
