September and October are those tricky months when the weather doesn’t really know what it’s doing with itself; foggy mornings and the need for a coat and then weekends of 22 degrees. This causes havoc for the fashionista and deciding what to wear each day.
#threewaystowear | Kaleidoscope Womenswear AW14
How best to go from Summer to Autumn without changing your outfit twice a day? Transitional pieces are the way forward and online fashion mecca Kaleidoscope asked me for my transitional tips to get us from season to season and also sent me these fabulous suede leopard ankle boots from their Kaleidoscope womenswear collection, to style #threewaystowear.
I’m always up for a challenge and I fell in love with these boots at the Kaleidoscope AW14 press day so I was super pleased to be able to have a go at styling them three ways and check out my transitional tips along the way!
Outfit 1 – The Smart Office Look
Boots for me are a great way to go from season to season. You can team with jeans on a milder day and when you know you’re going to be walking a fair bit. These boots are super comfy. But you can also style with opaque tights and your favourite dresses from the summer. That way you get more wear from your summer outfits and your favourites and it means you don’t have to have masses of clothes; it’s all about the capsule wardrobe.

Outfit 2 – Shopping with the girls
I love the colour of these boots and it means you can wear a more clean cut simple outfit of muted colours – white is fab as a transitional colour as it brings light to those darker autumn days and a freshness without being too severe if you accessorise with a dash of colour. I’ve teamed the boots with a laser cut top from the Kaleidoscope AW14 collection that is just fabulous and people have complimented me a lot on it this season so far.

Outfit 3 – Wedding Fair Casual
This weekend I attended my first wedding fair as a new bride to be. So exciting and at an amazing venue, Scotney Castle in Kent. I wanted to be comfortable for my browsing, chatting and all round general excitement of wedding planning. I knew that these boots would see me through the day and I love the heel on them, so much more flattering than flats or wedges. The colour of them pops out among a more muted colour palette of black and grey.

Other transitional tips to see you through from Summer to Autumn;
- Layers – these are your savour. There is nothing worse than being too hot or too cold. Always layer up; Duster cardigans (as in long enough to clean the floor!) are in at the moment and this means you can remove it as and when the sun shines!
- Boots – well naturally I am singing their praises here but if you get the right style to work with trousers, jeans and dresses then you are quids in for the season. A great pair, simple black wedges for example will see you through the seasons
- Accessorise – this is a great way of moving from season to season. If you’ve got your trusty chunky knitwear our or long sleeved tops; one way of adding a touch of something special for the season is with statement necklaces and earrings. Pops of colour that you can team with different outfits, simple, easy to update and style without investing too much in your wardrobe.
