Knitwear for AW15

Fashion

Today I have settled down into our freshly decorated office/third bedroom. I had to do a spot of furniture re-arranging, which meant emptying the drawers under our futon and as a result finding a whole stash of winter knitwear that I forgot I had. Awesome! It’s like going shopping but without spending the money. My prized merino cardigan from New Zealand has been found again, plus my once weekly lust from Crumpet the cashmere mecca. So I thought I would share with you a few places that I always shop for great knitwear at this time of year.

For Autumn/Winter 15 the 70’s rollneck sweater is back in. Now I cannot stand anything tight around my neck so they are a no from me, but here’s a fine choice for the season if it is your thing. The Cashmere Parker Roll Neck in Rouge from Crumpet Cashmere. Red is in this season too so get two trends in one with this piece that is guaranteed to keep you warm this winter.

I was recently at the first ever Stylist magazine event in London, Stylist Live and they had an awesome catwalk show. They talked us through the trends and there were so many sequins and brocade on the catwalk, it’s certainly a sparkly season. In order to have an element of relaxed glamour I love this Mountain Sparkle Jumper from Great Plains.

In Imperial blue and sand colouring the mountain landscape is speckled with metallic flecks and does give a certain allure to daytime dressing. Team with skinny jeans and high heels for a festive girls night out look.

Go a little Boho chic this season and make for knitwear that’s not just about jumpers and cardigans. The Phoebe Dress from Wrap London is a gorgeous soft merino sweater dress trimmed with a pleated silk hem. Team with thick black tights and biker boots, with a cape thrown of the top and you will be snug as a bug in a rug and as straight off the catwalk of boho chic this season. Available in graphite, khaki and denim blue. I think I’ll take one of each!

Ok ok so those who know me, know I love a Breton tee. So it must come with no surprise that I am also an ambassador of the Breton stripe sweater. Updated for the season, Hush have an awesome one. A beautiful, semi-sheer knit that is great for layering. I love the wide neckline, one that is always flattering and I think this is a great sweater to thrown on with pale denim and pumps for a spot of shopping at the weekend. Maybe a trip to Cannes before it gets too cold in the UK?
