Recently I have become obsessed with watching the television programme “Say Yes to the dress”. Based at American bridal boutiques; numerous dresses are tried on and shown to the bridal party before eventually the bride says, you guessed it, “yes” to the dress. I’m hooked! I’ve also started dreaming about wedding dress fittings, with my first bridal boutique experience booked for the 18th June.
For this weeks wedding inspiration post I want to look at affordable wedding dresses. Not everyone has a huge budget to spend on their wedding dress and also if you’re wearing it for an average of 12 hours, it can seem like a huge investment for little return; apart from looking fabulous in wedding photos for years to come.
I have picked my top five wedding dresses under £600 from the British high street and online. To make your wedding day more budget friendly without reducing the style stakes.

This ivory dress reminds me of a Jenny Packham dress I had my eye on. Very popular in style at the moment, a 1920’s inspired wedding dress with shimmering beads, heavy embellishment but a lightness and freshness in the flattering silhouette. Very chic.
Debut Ivory Embellished Wedding Dress, Debenhams £230
I love the Grecian style to this long ivory wedding dress. The design strikes a balance between modern and traditional and the empire waist will really enhance the figure, whilst the sequin and pleating adds a soft glamour.
Adrianna Papell Beaded Mesh Gown, John Lewis £270
If you are wanting a little bling then this dress is the one for your. A lovely flowing floor length gown with detailing on the upper torso, it won’t make you look too heavy in the photographs or on the dance floor! Adorned with silver sequins, seed pearl beads and crystal accents. The plunging scoop neckline and back will be very slimming and it is certainly a statement dress.

Monsoon has often been the destination when it comes to bridesmaid dress shopping. There are also some amazing dresses in their wedding collection that will suit a registry office wedding or a bride who doesn’t want to go down the traditional bridal boutique route. I think this dress would be perfect for a vintage style, barn wedding. The detailing on the back is just sublime and takes 25 hours to perfect in production.

Having a designer dress doesn’t have to mean breaking the bank. You can have a DVF little white dress that is perfect for a civil ceremony or beach destination wedding. This fitted dress oozes contemporary elegance and the scalloped trims and scoop neck makes a great evening wedding dress.
