Wedding Makeup Kent | The Beauty Aisle

For this week’s Wedding Inspiration piece, I met up with Ellie Gill, the makeup artist behind The Beauty Aisle, a Tunbridge Wells based makeup artist service. Ellie aim is to help brides feel their prettiest and most confident on their wedding day. Ellie provides wedding makeup in Kent, Sussex and further afield by arrangement.

Ellie makes sure only the most luxurious premium products are stocked in her kit. She has a range of brands she works with to make sure she uses the best for each aspect of the bridal look and if you have sensitive skin or specific products you want to use, she can apply them for you. There are two popular looks this Spring for weddings; a very bronzed and radiant look using golden tones and the English rose classic look, using natural, pink tones.

Ellie always recommends a make-up trial before your big day. They can last up to two hours, testing out different products and different looks to find the perfect one. Often what you think will work for you, isn’t right. During the make-up trial Ellie will tailor-make a look to suit your personal tastes and style, whether you want something subtle and pretty or glamourously vintage.

Wedding Makeup Kent and Sussex

Ellie is already booked up for 24 weddings this year, but having trained in fashion, she loves doing wedding makeup. I thought it would be a stressful time, but she explained that on the big day, there is little more that the bride can do. So it’s actually a rather chilled out time and rather fun.

“I love my job because each client and every job is completely different to the last one. One day I’ll be working on a high profile celebrity shoot and the next I’ll be sipping champagne with a bride helping her get ready on the morning of the most important day of her life. I have lots of experience working on films, music videos, fashion shoots as well as private clients. I know how important it is to feel and look your best on your wedding day”.

Ellie has also started offering a massage service leading up to the big day. A holistic Swedish massage designed to deal with stress and nerves. She will travel to the brides house both before and after the wedding. It can be a great treat post-wedding and since a bride’s big day should be once in a lifetime, it means that Ellie can continue to get to know the lovely brides even after doing their makeup.
