Last night I headed over to the gorgeous Hatfield House near St Albans for a fairytale evening. I sat Front Row at the Luxury Wedding Catwalk Show held in a gorgeous medieval hall ready for a taste of St Albans Fashion Week.
St Albans Fashion Week
As a newly engaged lady, I was very keen to see the bridal collections and the show was a great mix of 150 looks from luxury brands and boutique designers for the wedding party, guests and honeymoon including of wedding dresses, jewellery, grooms-wear and mother of the bride outfits.
Now I have to warn you that it is extremely difficult to photograph white wedding dresses in bright lights on a white runway, so they haven’t come out as well as I would have liked but there were some exquisite styles. There was a very special one too that I have my eye on, but I shan’t ruin the magic and let you know until after the big day!
St Albans Fashion Week was created by Ellena Ophira from Style in My City, you can read more about it here. The Luxury Wedding Catwalk Show hosted fabulous local boutiques such as The Bride from George Street, St Albans, The Dressing Room a well known local establishment, John Lewis, a mainstay of St Albans Fashion Week and one of my fashion loves Marc Cain.
The event was sponsored by destination specialists Kuoni (who are also sponsoring the V&A’s current Wedding Dresses exhibition), The Skin Shop & Clinic and Stila. What I loved about the event is that afterwards there was a splendid champagne reception that hosted a unique event that aimed to capture the charm and ambience of a luxury wedding without the impersonal nature of a traditional wedding fair and I met some truly lovely people whilst I was there!
