I am so inspired by British designers and manufacturing in England. In today’s climate it feels more important than every to celebrate British business. Jennifer Hamley England, is an emerging British label designed for the stylish, high-performing women of today. After becoming bored and restless from years of running her own business, founder and designer, Jennifer Hamley decided to follow her passion and started making bags and accessories. She studied Handbag Design at the London College of Fashion but still felt she was far from creating the luxury brand she knew she wanted to launch. Here’s the story of how she came to find her inspiration, name her collection and feel ready to launch her luxury handbag brand.
Jennifer Hamley England – the story
One weekend in February 2022 Jennifer attended a weekend course called ‘Unlocking the Will to Act’. Here, she met the trainer’s daughter Katie, who prompted her to follow her dreams of setting up a high-end handbag label. It was at this moment that the Model K.T. work bag was born, named after the inspirational woman who was the catalyst for taking this leap.
Jen’s inspiration for creating bags that work came from the strong, driven business women and entrepreneurs whom she looked up to.
“Throughout my career I have attended a number of business conferences and seminars making connections with strong and driven business women and entrepreneurs. These women are a different breed of human, they’re exciting, they believe in themselves, to them anything is possible and they’re passionate. I wanted to be near them, I wanted to be one of them, I wanted to design handbags that would help them to be the best version of themselves. I was inspired to create designs that would make their lives easier (whilst being luxurious and stylish), so they could get on with being badass!”

The bag is available in Aubergine, Black, Chocolate, Salamander, Teal in calfskin leather. My favourites are the Teal and Salamander, as I said, I like to make a statement in the office!
